“Leaving” – 303

The nostalgia for the ‘90s is undeniable and while there are some fashion trends and TV reboots we could do without, one thing we would love to see more and more of are R&B groups. Male, female, even non-binary because when you have three or more vocal talents in one package – magic, and that is just what “Leaving” by 303 is.

“Leaving” is a throwback to the days when the radio played everything from TLC to 3LW back to back, and it was glorious. Of course, tides usher in new waves, and somewhere between the early aughts and today, girl groups faded into the background. Of course, there is Fifth Harmony and Little Mix, but we’re talking less pop and more R&B-focused girl groups that could deliver impactful soul music and blend it in with the mainstream. 303 has had their eyes set on doing just that since dropping their 2018 debut, “Whisper.” Since then they’ve given the world one great single after another, including half a dozen in 2021.

303 worked alongside Future Cut, Anais Aida, and Monro on their latest release of the year, and it’s one of their strongest. The vocals all complement one another to the point that they fit seamlessly together from start to finish when you hit those grand chorus moments. It’s a song meant for the radio, personal playlists, and beyond.
