“Keeper” – Ross Baum

If there is one development to keep around from the past recent years, it’s self-love. We watched so many generations before us put everything else before themselves, causing well…a cascade of damage from being wary of the importance of mental health to not knowing when to walk away from toxic situations. With self-care being something we’ve finally realized we need to put ahead of so many things in life, there needs to be an anthem for such a movement, and we have one right here with “Keeper” from Ross Baum.

The magic of a great pop song isn’t as simple as some make it out to be. Everything has to align just right for it to well, pop – and I can say with confidence that all is aligned with “Keeper.” The arrangement of the super charming, uplighting lyrical content is superb. The way Ross Baum’s words dance around makes you want to hit repeat over and over again, but that’s also because of what he’s singing about. Everyone deserves a musical pick-me-up, and this one is ready for the job.

Ross Baum has always been a performer. Only he got his start in the theatre, even earning high praise as the composer of  ‘Gun & Powder.’ Of course, his vocal abilities could not be denied and over the years he’s released a song here and there, but in 2020 he decided it was time to put his eggs into a basket weaved out of dreams of a solo career. Now, “Keeper” isn’t just his latest, it’s the first single from his upcoming EP, ‘Three Red Hearts.’ While you have to wait a bit longer for the EP, you can check out “Keeper,” out now on all major music and streaming sites.
