“Internal Monologue” by Davey Legend Ft. OZ Goliath

Find solace in your anxiety with Davey Legend’s latest track, “Internal Monologue,” featuring OZ Goliath!

“Internal Monologue” is a rich blend of alternative pop and emo rap which rests in the range of a personal genre that Legend calls “bing bong boing” music. The chorus has a catchy and upbeat dancey sound, with a lyrical exploration of anxiety. “My anxiety’s a mountain / I try my best to do without it / The thoughts inside my head are pounding,” this chorus opens with a smooth flow. In addition, rapper OZ Goliath offers up a verse that brings the emo rap sound to things. Overall, both artists offer their voices into a piece that has a dynamic flow. Also, the composition breaks free from the typical verse, chorus, repeat, to remain exciting throughout. Lyrically, it is a deep delve into what it’s like living with anxiety and mental health issues in general.

After one long year, “Internal Monologue” is a jump back into music for Davey Legend, one that pulls in influence from personal experience. Legend is a Redding, California to Los Angeles-based Gen Z artist who grew up with influence from modern technology. This helped craft his unique relationship with the world, which in turn surely impacts his creation process. His music overall pulls in influences from a wide genre range with a force of deep emotional resonance. This may have been a long wait for a new single, but it shows that Legend’s still got it!
