“In Good Times” – Harrison Storm

We had the pleasure of interviewing Harrison Storm and here’s what he had to say:

Q: What was your inspiration for “In Good Time”? And what does it mean to you?

STORM: I was away on a writing trip last year, working away on songs for the album. I hit a bit of a creative block and decided to listen to some old demos of songs I wrote when I first started releasing music. The demo I listened to was a song of mine called “Sense Of Home” and I had an immediate, emotional reaction listening to this younger version of myself singing. There was a sudden appreciation for the time that passed since I wrote that song and who I was then, to who I am now. I picked up my guitar and started writing this song. It’s almost a reply to my younger self, a reply to this old song of mine. The song is an appreciation of time passed and how we change when we really reflect on the past.

Q: At what point did you feel “Okay. This is great. I’m going to put this out there!”?

STORM: Almost immediately. I was very emotional when I was writing it and listening back to it on voice memos, I was very proud of it!

Q: What drives you to create music?

STORM: Generally, it’s trying to understand myself and the world around me. I write to get things I can’t comprehend with my mind, out. That being said, I also create because it’s fun to make something from nothing.

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of making music?

STORM: I love anything to do with nature. I love surfing, hiking, camping, and being at the beach. I guess I’m the stereotypical Aussie!

Q: What’s your all-time favourite song? Why?

STORM: There’s a song called “Rose Pickles” by an Australian band called The Custom Kings. I listened to it when I was a teenager and absolutely loved how I felt like I had entered the singer-songwriter’s world when I listened to it. It was like reading a book but 100 times more detailed. From then on I was hooked on creating little worlds of my own.

Q: What would you like to tell your supporters?

STORM: To be yourself, to look after yourself and the world around you, and to express how you feel!
