“Ignore You” – Marlin Beach

I am not going to lie to you, when I first listened to “Ignore You” by Marlin Beach, I was feeling a mix of complex emotions. It’s a very upbeat, indie-pop song that is very easy to bop and vibe to, but the lyrics can be so heartbreaking!! Marlin Beach lyrics paints a picture of struggling with the uncertainty of their feelings; torn between the urge to trust in love and the fear of getting hurt again. Anyone who has felt burned from a love that they believed to be true, can definitely relate to feeling alone and yearning to reach back out to the person who hurt you, to overcompensate the loneliness. It is definitely a trap of course, but the feeling is so strong that you try and push past your critical thinking skills and I feel like Marlin Beach captures this concept really well. Definitely give “Ignore You” a spin if you can understand the push and pull of conflicted feelings in the name of romance and love.
