“I Get Lost” – Jacks and Atoms

The irony of “I Get Lost” by Jacks and Atoms is that it will help listeners find their way as it is a musical guiding light ready to take the lead.

Introspective lyricism encased in grandiose indie rock, “I Get Lost” is reminiscent of what bands like The Killers and We Are Scientists were doing back in the mid-00s. While there are a lot of reminders of what was, Jacks and Atoms definitely bring their own modern touches to the table, but also hints of another genre. There was something that felt folk-like.

Perhaps it was the way the vocals came through, or of the beat, once the chorus would kick in every time. Whether intentional or not, it’s that genre-bending, that multifaceted style that makes “I Get Lost” a song meant for today’s audiences as artists today don’t stick to one lane, and that’s what’s refreshing about modern music.

Hailing from Chicago, Jacks and Atoms got their start back in 2016 with the release of their debut, ‘Over the Mountain.’ Some time passed between their debut and their next single, but they came back strong with 2020’s infectious delight, “Don’t Hide Away.” Jacks and Atoms was back and since then they have released a handful of singles including “We Stand” and “In My Head.” “I Get Lost” is their second single of 2022.
