“Hyperspiritual” by YUS

YUS’s new album, Hyperspiritual has all the makings of a Synthpop success. This album ebbs and flows in a way that keeps multiple surprises at hand for the listener. YUS makes sure to keep his production strong and let the beat- work carry as much importance as the vocals do.

Each song on this album is dynamic and incomparable to the next. YUS really brings a fresh sound to each track while still achieving the cohesiveness of an album. Each song really tells a story unique from the last. With “Kettle Beat”, you’ll have typical Synthpop production only to see an unexpected latin flare with “Give Me That”.

Hyperspritual uses a combination of elements to really move the listener, not only physically but emotionally. There is such a beautiful consistency to each of the tracks and the way they connect with one another. The lyrical journey is subtle while still being powerful. In “Home”, you’ll see how YUS really focuses on making this a lyrical heavy song as opposed to the rest.

I loved the authenticity that YUS brings to the Synthpop world. It is a new perspective that commemorates old techniques. One his mentor, Moby, would be proud of.
