“Heaven Or Hell” by Chris James

Chris James is a German-American songwriter, guitarist and record producer. We get to be on fire or get a pair of new wings with Chris for his new track “Heaven or Hell”. We had the pleasure of interviewing Chris James, and here is what he had to say:

Q: What motivated you to start creating music? At what age did you begin?

CHRIS: I started when I was 15 and my dad had a guitar in the basement that I was just messing with. It kind of became a weird obsession and I just never really stopped.

Q: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?

CHRIS: I listened to a lot of John Mayer, Ed Sheeran and a bunch of bands like The 1975. I think it was super inspiring to see someone like Ed conquer the world with his music like that. It showed me that anyone who is ambitious enough could do it.

Q: What inspired your most recent release “Heaven or Hell”?

CHRIS: I was struggling through a difficult time with someone and I realized that no matter how challenging things get, it would never cross my mind to walk away.

Q: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?

CHRISI think I want to do what other musicians did for me when I was younger. Show other people that you can get really far if you believe in what you do.

Q: Your debut album ‘The Weight Of Nostalgia’ is out and doing really well! What does this album mean to you? What can fans expect from your upcoming album, “Why Should We Turn Around”, which drops on April 14?

CHRISI think it was a super significant final chapter of my three album trilogy that I put out over the course of three years. I kind of count these three albums as my first big body of work, so Why Should We Turn Around? Is the start of something new. The future is bright, that’s all I can say. I can‘t wait for it to finally be out!!
