“Good With Goodbye” by PEPTALK Ft. Chloe Parché

PEPTALK just released their latest single, “Good With Goodbye,” featuring Chloe Parché on March 25th.

“Good With Goodbye” is one of those indie pop-rock tracks that has an almost optimistic bounce in the instrumentation and emotion that shines through the vocals and lyricism. The chorus in it gives a catchy sound, and that’s partially due to the way that the vocal lines utilize a quietness on the offbeat before line cutoffs. The way it does this gives an anthemic nature that begs to be sung along to. Additionally, the instrumentation is extremely dynamic, working with different string sounds and synths to fill the space with life and intrigue. That being said, the mix is so well crafted, and though a lot of sounds are introduced at the same time occasionally, no part of the instrumentation steps on the toes of any other. Lyrically, this track goes into a tale of moving forward from a relationship of mistreatment. “I still wish you the best, but I won’t lie / if it’s at my expense I’m gonna try / keep you outta sight outta mind,” the chorus flows.

PEPTALK is an all female indie pop trio consisting of queer and POC members who are here to bring positive representation to younger audiences. It consists of lead vocalist Phoebe Sinclair, bassist Lara Frew, and keyist Jay-Lee Kwan. These artists have written on this project as well as on other projects around the world, and in 2023, Troye Sivan and Lucas Keller invited both Lara and Phoebe to be a part of the APRA AMCOS’ Pride Songwriting Camp. Additionally, they’ve been featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday and Fresh Finds playlists, among others. They’ve also had the chance to perform at festivals such as TedX Brisbane and Sydney Fringe Festival. This only encapsulates a bit of what they’ve done so far. With such a stellar musical history, who’s to know where their talent and skill will take them next?
