“gentle” – Lexi Jayde

“Please be gentle with me.”

Is it too soon to say that once this song goes viral, much like she just did with “drunk text me,” the latest from Lexi Jayde will be one of the most used lyrics of the year? That’s because the line above from “gentle” is just one of the things that shimmers like a Christmas tree. Which makes all the sense in the world as “gentle” is a true gift.

On the surface “gentle” is a pretty straightforward song about someone who is telling a potential partner that they’ve been through the wringer already and aren’t really interested in repeating any past mistakes or trauma. Too often people hop into a relationship without setting a solid foundation, and “gentle” is a reminder that you can’t ignore your past, or else it will shake up the present and possibly prevent a great future. Lexi Jayde’s latest can also be taken as a song that fits into other scenarios in life too from friendships to work relationships as well because when you hit that chorus, the sentiments become more universal than not.

During a time when everyone’s core is being pushed to the limit more and more each day, it’s important to remind others that we do need to be gentle with one another. Our reality is not easy, but we can each do one another a solid in acting right towards one another.

Lexi Jayde recently had a viral moment and that song, “drunk text me,” can be found on her sophomore EP, ‘closer to closure’ alongside not only “gentle” but also other must-hear songs like “self sabotage” and “hate to be you.” To hear all of the above and more from Lexi Jayde, make sure to check her out on all major music and streaming sites today.
