“everyone i know is hurtin’” by Nate Mosley

Nate Mosley just released his brand new single “everyone i know is hurtin’” today, March 3, 2026.

This alternative rock track brings in a moodiness in both the musicality and lyrics that’s reminiscent of emo sounds, and the vocal whine brings in a bit of a pop punk edge. In terms of the vocals, this release is an intensely emotional experience all around. They start off paired with a quick acoustic guitar drive. Around 1:05, an extra chord line enters, just before a full-band sound with an electric guitar, bass, and percussion is introduced after a complete halt. This halt does well at dashing in some extra suspense, and adding in these additional layers at this point does wonderfully at building on the initial simplicity of the track. Later on, the vocals build into a full belt, and it grows into an anthemic sound before a soft bridge ending and a strong outro. This is a track that evolves, and it does so in a way that seems meant to keep listeners invested in its emotion and narrative. Overall, this track captures a specific sense of melancholy and uses a dynamic flow to deliver.

“everyone i know is hurtin’” lyrically suggests a relationship in which both parties have their own struggles. The voice of the track is struggling with wanting to leave their partner, as they are having trouble helping said partner work through emotional pain being experienced. It’s poignant and poetic, leaving space between the lines for listeners to interpret from the lens of their own lives. “So pour another cup / And I’ll say anything you want / Cause we all have vices in our lives / The things we kill for,” the second verse ends with. It does well at taking the lens of a person with their own problems trying to help another with their own. They want to help, but there’s a distinct sense of cynicism.
