“End of the Line” – Jarn

We had the pleasure of interviewing Jarn, and here’s what he had to say:

Q: What motivated you to create and share “End of the Line”?

JARN: Initially, we sat down and talked about our childhood and how we felt like we always used to end up standing in the background whenever our school had recitals or concerts. Like, how we really wanted to be in the front singing or playing our hearts out, but not really having the confidence to do it. We ended up writing a chorus about it and that turned into “End of the Line”.

Q: What is one thing you’d like listeners to take away from this song?

JARN: That the song can put into words that feeling of being scared of not doing or not being enough, and that one hopefully can take comfort in the fact that we’ve been there too, and that’s okay.

Q: In what ways do you think your songs reflect your personality?

JARN: We look at ourselves as two guys who have always worked in the background. Both of us write and produce music for others. This is our chance to step out of that shadow and take on a new direction in our creativity.

Q: What role do you think music played in the early years of your life?

JARN: We grew up with older siblings practicing music and playing in bands, so music has always been in our DNA. You can almost say it made us competitive at a young age, just trying to keep up with our older brothers and sisters. That’s also something we try to feed off of when we work on new songs and projects.

Q: What is one aspect you would personally say is the most stressful about releasing new music?

JARN: Carol King, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, etc. The list goes on. A lot of songwriters of the past, especially in the folk genre. The way they can paint pictures with words is something that’s awe-inspiring to us.

Q: What projects are currently in the works?

JARN: Right now we are working on more songs to be released, with our next single ”Frankenstein” coming out on the 28th of July!!
