We had the pleasure of interviewing Samuel Jack, and here’s what he had to say:
Q: How has your 2023 been so far and what’s one thing you’re really looking forward to doing this year?
JACK: It’s been MEGA. Releasing an album has been a big focus for me and I’m really looking forward to shining some light on each and every song this year.
Q: What was your creative process for “Borderline”?
JACK: “Borderline” was conjured up with my pal Chris Young in his studio in Kent. It was one of those ‘we found magic’ moments whilst jamming at the piano – we later developed in London with Patch Boshell. I had the concept of being able to revisit life-changing moments and how that could pivot a completely different path.
Q: How would you like listeners to respond to it?
JACK: By singing along!
Q: What do you like the most about being able to create music?
JACK: Music is an amazing way to communicate how you feel. For me, it’s a cathartic practice but moreover, it’s the connection with people that I really get the biggest buzz out of. When the listener really resonates with the message – that’s a special moment.
Q: Is there anything else you could see yourself doing full-time if you weren’t a musician?
JACK: Not even a bit. But I do love to cook.
Q: What does your roadmap for the rest of the year look like pertaining to your music career?
JACK: This year is about my album ‘The Gold & The Glory’ – hopefully there’ll be some tour dates, and I’m always writing, and recording, so there will always be more music.
