With a danceable beat and lyrics with heart, pop artist Alena Ciera has released her new EP All in My Head available now. The singer has already made a name for herself in the industry, collaborating with the likes of Yolanda Adams, Cee Lo Green, and many others. Ciera has had the opportunity to perform her songs on iconic stages to crowded stadiums. Her songwriting is fun and real, she is a songwriter who knows what she wants to say and nails her message.
The first track “All In My Head” is where the EP gets its name. The song is jazzy and poppy, capturing a story of stepping back into oneself. Ciera is a graceful storytelling, wielding words like magic as they dance along the melody. It is a song that just begs the listener to let loose and sing along.
While being an artist and songwriter, Ciera is also a guitarist. This shines throughout her songwriting. The driving feel of the electric guitars beautifully captures the energy of her electro pop love song. She cleverly twists the words of the chorus singing, “if I can change if I can change if I can change your mind / if I can change, if I can change, if I can change / would it change your mind?” The desperation of doing whatever to keep someone around is apparent in her honest lyrics. The beat drop at the post chorus reenforces her electric sound.
The EP closes with the track “In Your Feelings,” with gang vocals and Ciera full of sass, it is reminiscent of Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun.” A song full of attitude and confidence, Ciera finds herself at the end of her journey. The EP takes the listener through a story of miscommunications, insecurities, on-again/off-again relationships, and more – to finally end with Ciera standing on top. Her rock, jazz, and pop influences all have their own chances to stand out throughout all five of these songs. This EP has such a catchy feel-good energy that it is no surprise she is already entertaining arenas and stadiums. She is one to watch for up-and-coming acts!
