“boy for the weekend” – marc indigo

“boy for the weekend” by marc indigo is like taking a hard pill filled with the push and pull of relationship woes, but is coated with a super sweet, cheery instrumental. Indigo’s lyrics offers a glimpse into the evocative world of transient connections. Depending on how you feel on the subject of transactional relationships, you might frown initially at the lyrics. However to me, I can understand completely how hard it is to leave something that feels so good for the moment, but you is terrible for you in the long run. Indigo elaborates on this complex emotional dynamic in such an upbeat, indie-pop way. It almost makes you want to whistle this song over and over again, disregarding the very real and messy dynamics that are highlighted in the lyrics.
