“Blur” by Sam Ritchie

Sam Ritchie hits us with the lyrics, “I’ve spent some time alone / I don’t know where to go”, from the start, which becomes the revisiting words throughout the course of the song. Behind a bed a magnetic beats, he subtly touches on the fear of starting new after leaving a past love.

The production is also something to be praised upon. “Blur” really puts the listener into a trance with the drawn out vocals and mix of bright yet etherial instrumentals. He somehow makes the keyboard, guitar, and drums feel like one sound. Or in other words, he is a genius bedroom pop producer.

From the second I played this one, I added it to my playlist. If you don’t do the same, then I don’t know what musical planet you’re from. All I’m saying is Sam Ritchie knows where it’s at.

It’s that good.
