“je t’efface” – Ariane Gabriel

“je t’efface” by Ariane Gabriel transports you into a world of glistening Parisian lights under the night sky while you walk alone after breaking it off with your French lover. Even though most might not understand a word of what Gabriel is saying (unless you speak some French of course), this song is not meant to truly be understood in order to be felt. “je t’efface” means I erase you in French, which could mean some trouble in Parsian Pardise for Gabriel. Regardless, she entices the listener with her infectious and soulful pop melody. Plus, Gabriel’s sultry and smoky voice adds a sensual dimension to “je t’efface”. The instrumentals are upbeat, coupled with playful and minimalistic production which allows Gabriel’s vocals and lyrics to take center stage. Give this song a spin if you are the type to daydream of breaking up with your lover and then taking a walk in the rain in your chic fantasies.
