“Don’t Belong” by Nyrah Soull

“Don’t Belong” by Nyrah Soull is nothing short of a jam. Within the first thirty seconds, you are taken on a journey with the song drop and will find yourself grooving with the soft soulful beats. You can’t help but vibe with the entire flow of the song.

This is Nyrah’s fourth single and her experiment with a new sound has definitely paid off. It brings ethereal vibes to a classic R&B structure and is surely something for everyone.

Although the song has an upbeat structure, her lyrics find a deeper meaning with the audience. In “Don’t Belong”, she’s candid about her experience with knowing when it’s time to end a relationship. In lyrics like, “When all is said and done/ and you wont write your wrongs/ I guess that means we don’t belong” she speaks deeper on that idea. It’s easy to resonate with lyrics like , “Something is always lost/We just don’t belong” signifying that it’s okay to understand when a relationship has run its course and that a love can reach the point of being lost.

Just when you least expect it, this song has a structure change and finishes with an unexpected slow and enchanting piano solo.

“Don’t Belong” by Nyrah Soull will definitely get you in your feels while also bringing you to the dance floor. It’s a beautiful song from start to finish and I can’t wait to add it to my summer playlist.
