“Blue to Purple” by Chris Waters

If you enjoy chill electro-pop songs, you should definitely give “Blue to Purple” by Chris Waters a listen. It has a fantastic and absorbing build that will have you falling in love with it. We had the pleasure of interviewing Chris Waters, and here’s what he had to say:

Q: Did you have a clear direction/idea of how you wanted “Blue to Purple” to sound and the effect you wanted it to have on listeners before you started creating the song?

WATERS: Most definitely. We wanted it to build over time, and the chorus to be an explosion of happiness and hope. We wanted it to feel like going from a darker place to a happier place and hopefully, we accomplished that.

Q: How long have you been making music and how did you get into it?

WATERS: Basically about 5 years, as my debut EP came out in 2018. I started by just singing some covers and posting them on Youtube.

Q: In what way(s), do you think your sound has evolved since the beginning of your career?

WATERS: I started out doing electropop, but since then I have blended and tried a lot of different styles and genres. I think I’m always experimenting a little bit and I try to never do the same thing twice. I don’t want to be predictable or boring.

Q: What would you like listeners to take away from this song?

WATERS: It’s definitely meant to be a summer jam. As we come out of winter, it was meant to be a celebration of spring/ summer and brighter days ahead.

Q: What’s your favorite genre for creating songs? Which do you think allows you to express yourself in a way that most matches your personality?

WATERS: At my core, I am a pop artist. But I love electronic music, hip hop, acoustic…. all of it. I think the rap/pop tracks I have done best match my personality. You get me singing and rapping in the same track and it shows 2 different sides of me.

Q: What is one thing you’re really looking forward to achieving musically this year?

WATERS: I would love to get this track to a million streams. I have never done that. I would also love to collaborate with some other artists. I am also going to be DJing this summer and I’m also working on becoming a curator as well.
