“Moonshine” – Naia Lika

“Moonshine” by Naia Lika has the most texturally diverse, infectious groove you’ll ever hear. Infused with elements of disco and modern pop, this track just oozes catchiness. If you loved Dua Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia,” this one will be a treat. Not to mention, Naia Lika’s voice is just as unique as it is powerful. You’ll be totally blown away.

“I can make you love me like Sonny loves Cher / Donuts in a parking lot, next thing we’re here,” the vocals open the track, draped over a cloud of ethereal synths. Naia delivers a few acrobatic runs, then the beat drops in. The percussion is wonderfully varied, toggling between cowbells, bongos, and traditional drum set. The bass takes on a funky, rhythmic line. Synth chords emphasize certain divisions of the beat with these vibrant swells. You’re practically swimming in this busy, exciting sea of instruments.

By the pre-chorus, the disco vibe sets in. Strings underpin the melody, sometimes with legato, dreamy notes, and other times with short, emphatic hits. This bleeds into the chorus as well, but this time, Naia’s lead line rockets into the stratosphere. Her vocals take center stage as her high-register belts craft the perfect hook. By now, if you’re not already dancing along, you definitely want to be. It’s the ideal climax to an already exhilarating song.

Be sure to give Naia Lika a like, a follow, and a download on your choice of streaming service or social media platform. You’ll doubtlessly fall in love with her vibrant musicianship.
