“6 in the Morning” by SHERPA

Danish/Nepalese solo artist SHERPA released his vibrant song, “6 in the Morning,” on April 15th, and it is part of his debut album AVALON. This song has purely good vibes and encourages listeners to cast their worries aside and have a great time – “keep dancing.” We had the pleasure of interviewing SHERPA, and here’s what he had to say:

Q: What effect would you like “6 in the Morning” to have on listeners?

SHERPA: I want the listeners to feel nostalgic and free. I want them to let go of their worries and feel like the night could last forever.

Q: What would you say was the best part of creating this song?

SHERPA: The best part of creating the song was that it was written with two of my closest friends in my parents’ basement. I wrote the melodies, my friend and artist Simon Søby wrote the text and my friend and artist punq wrote the catchy synth melody. Having them with me through the creation of this song was amazing.

Q: When did you know this song was complete and ready for release?

SHERPA: As “6 in the Morning” is a part of my album, I knew it was complete and ready for release once the whole album was finished and mastered in November last year.

Q: What do you do to get your creative juices flowing when you feel stuck while creating a song?

SHERPA: When I’m stuck I try to do something else. There’s something called incubation, which is where you step away from a project and let the subconscious mind work on its own. So this could be talking, a walk or listening to some other music for inspiration, or going out with your friends. This can inspire and build up ideas subconsciously.

Q: What is the best advice you’ve received about the music industry?

SHERPA: Be true to yourself and have good friends around you who are not afraid to tell you the truth.

Q: Are there any musicians who inspire you? What qualities do you admire about them?

SHERPA: One musician who inspires me is Christine And The Queens. I admire her for her authenticity and her ability to express herself through her music. I am also fascinated by her live performances, where she incorporates dance and theatrical elements that make her shows truly memorable. I aspire to bring this level of creativity and energy to my own performances.
