Q: When did you realize music production was your passion?
BRAINHEART: I remember the first time I watched the Tomorrowland festival; I was hooked. From that moment, I knew that one day I would produce music professionally. The fact that a human being can create music that affects so many people is crazy.
Q: When seeking vocalists to sing your song lyrics, what qualities do you look for in their voice?
BRAINHEART: I look for a unique tone, dynamic range, vocal expression, and accent. In my opinion, these 4 elements are crucial.
Q: Your struggles with grade school catapulted you into your career path. What advice would you give to today’s students who are unsure of their destinies?
BRAINHEART: We don’t have to obey. We don’t have to conform to an ideology that is placed upon our shoulders just because someone says so. No matter who you are, you can have a voice, and you can have a say. You can break the rules. Trust the process, have faith in the future, and trust life.
Q: How has your music career influenced your personal life?
BRAINHEART: Music impacts my brain and my heart every single day and brings me peace of mind. Music gives me purpose; I have a reason to get up every day. Producing music is the only way I can fully express my feelings and emotions. I learn a lot about myself and about growth while making songs. Also, music helps me a lot with accepting myself. For as long as I can remember, I’ve hated my appearance. The way I see myself has ruined so many moments that should’ve been fun. I believe that one day I will fully accept myself. This is a tough and complicated journey but I’m working on it.
Q: What inspires your song lyrics, and how do you capture the wanted emotion?
BRAINHEART: I get inspiration from so many things, but I think the most powerful sources of inspiration come from traveling, movies, songs, and music festivals/concerts. Honestly, if the lyrics hit my soul and make me feel something it’s a sign that the song is good enough to be released.
Q: If there was one message in your music that you wanted your listeners to hear, what would it be?
BRAINHEART: “You only live once, so don’t waste your time.” I want to help people find light in the darkness, I want to make people feel something unique and make them happy/emotional. Life is too short to be sad so dare to dream big and set your goals high. Every time you fail, you come one step closer to success.
