“50%” – Barrett Crake

Anyone who’s watched ‘Shark Tank’ knows if those billionaires come in hot with wanting 50% they mean business and when Barrett Crake sings about such percentages in his new single, “50%,” it means he wants all that good lovin’ you have to offer.

The latest from Barrett Crake takes the passion of wanting someone so bad, even half of them would suffice but if someone offered 51% – the experience would then be next level. A great pop-inspired song that swims through a rapid river of electronic beats and into the bodies of all that hear. Right from the start, I noted the beat, a great one that felt reminiscent of the dance songs that owned the airwaves in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. What stood out most out though was Barrett’s conviction throughout the track. He sold every second of this narrative of playful passion from the press of play.

Barrett Crake has been making musical moves since 2016. Since then he’s been on a roll, most recently hitting number 2 on Germany’s dance charts with the remix of “Rhythm Of The Night.” It’s one of a handful of covers Crake released in 2021 on the ‘Acoustic Sessions, Covers: vol 1.” The record also featured his rendition of “I’m a Slave 4 U” and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World.” Now he’s back with his first new single of 2022, “50%” but chances are listeners are going to want 100% of what he has to offer after hearing this one.
