“Don’t Be Nervous” – Mitch Luther

Back when I was a little emo kid going to shows all the time, there would be instances when a more poppy act would be on the bill. Bands like Hellogoodbye and The Format would often share bills with harder bands, but it all somehow worked and influenced a generation to step outside their genre comfort zones a lot more than the generation before them. So when I pressed play on “Don’t Be Nervous,” I thought of those happier indie-pop acts and thought, Mitch Luther would’ve fit in then, just as much as he’d fit in now alongside the likes of Shawn Mendes and Olivia Rodrigo. Versatile? Most definitely so.

Now am I being biased because this song reminded me of my show-going days? Maybe just a little, but personal love of this song aside – I have to say that if you’re a fan of artists like The 1975 and Flor, then you’re going to have fun with this song just as much as I did listening to it at least a dozen times in one morning. The music is light and welcoming, while Mitch Luther’s vocals are just the same. Once you listen to “Don’t Be Nervous” a half dozen times, you’ll find yourself moving through his discography and being nothing but pleased.

That is because his collection of songs so far includes his 2018 debut “The Come Down,” his first album ‘Star Breather,’ as well as a handful of other singles including “Don’t Be Nervous.” To hear all of those and then some, check Mitch Luther out now on all major music and streaming sites.
