Estella Dawn just released her newest track, “Conversations,” today, 10/24/2025, and it’s proof that more emotional piano-ballad pop still has a place in music today.
As mentioned before, “Conversations” really stands out in its emotion, which is played out with powerful and well-controlled vocals in front of a gorgeous, organic piano sound. That being said, it plays out as unique by straying from the typical verse, chorus, repeat style into a track that slowly evolves over time. Each corner is new, but it does well at doing so with the piano and full alto vocals carrying the whole piece. The vocals have so much emotiveness, and the reverb-laden piano seems to be put together to pull the feelings straight out of listeners’ hearts. Composition, musicianship, and production all blend together to make this track hauntingly beautiful.
Lyrically, this track seems to be about being in love with someone, and expressing that love, but not feeling it back. It shows the feeling of begging for much-deserved attention while expressing the desire to show whatever is needed to get it. Additionally, it explores the feeling that develops from feeling unloved and treated with disconnection. The last lyric is, “You tell me to the face that I deserve the best, I know I do / But if you can’t seem to give me that, then I pray, oh I pray you cut me loose.” The main voice of the track at this point sounds fed up with feelings of heartbreak, even though they’re currently with someone that they love. Because of this feeling, they wish they could just be let go.
