“End It With Whiskey” by Tristan Roberson is the perfect song to share a drink with a loved one to on a beautiful summer night.
“End It With Whiskey” is a strong release that uses captivating pop melody with a country basis to build into a heartfelt depiction of love. The mix in this track is absolutely gorgeous, the backing and lead guitars fitting in a way where they both stand out. This is done by using dynamic mixing that shifts sounds around to make things even more lively. Additionally, the percussion builds into a rhythm with a really good sway to it. It’s danceable and nice, but it doesn’t overdo it with its energy. All of that being said, and the highlight may still be Tristan’s voice. His vocals bend around smoothly and hit a brassy baritone that’s immaculately produced. This is all around a great basis for the lyricism.
The lyrics of “End It With Whiskey” are about love on the road. It depicts nights of shared wine that eventually end with whiskey. The nights it depicts are beautiful, ones shared with love and care, and the main voice mentions that it can be taken fast or slow. That being said, it also states, “I want you to know that this won’t last.” It seems to get into a tale of falling in love, but it’s known that that love can’t last. The narrator will eventually be back on the road, and it’ll end up being just a shared moment. The dichotomy of the lovey lyrics and this acknowledgement push-and-pull to build a clear narrative.
At just 17 years old, Tristan Roberson shows quite the talent. With his skills as a country singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he’s already amassed 4.5 million streams on his music and has been charted by several publications. He’s charted on National Radio Charts at spot 12 and on major Texas Radio Charts at spot 3. In addition to this, he’s been featured on some Spotify editorial playlists. This is an up-and-coming young artist who has shown so much prowess in only 11 months, and he just released his debut album, “One Night In Dallas,” on May 9th. “End It With Whiskey” is just one of several strong tracks, so it’s more than worth a listen!
