“Wonder Woman” by D’ Lee

“Wonder Woman” is a coming of age song about learning how to overcome your fears. D’Lee gets up close and personal with her listeners with this deeply resonating tune. The lyrical story really dives into the artist’s childhood and early dreams.

“Wonder Woman” really helps her audience understand that little girl that she is singing about, the one who wanted to be the hero of her own dreams. This song paints such a beautiful story from start to finish. The emotion behind D’Lee’s vocals is raw and poignant. You can feel how intentional she is with her storytelling journey and how much she wants the audience to connect with them. There is a true grace to her vocal tone and it’s felt within every word from start to finish.

The production is clear and to the point, with not much instrumentation to distract from the words. The intention behind the guitar arrangements is perfect for what this song is trying to accomplish. The vocals really take on a mind of their own and give life to the words. This is a classic country-pop song, focusing more on relaying the story more than anything else. Her higher register really helps the words accomplish more meaning in certain places. Each verse paves way for the next one to be even stronger. However, the bridge is where this song really takes flight.

I loved the passion behind this story and always connect deeper with a song that comes from the heart. D’Lee is the perfect person for the job.
