“Tattoo” – Emmrose

One of the things I really enjoy about “Tattoo” by Emmrose is it starts off really light and soft vocally, but then it flips you on your head during the second chorus when she adds more power and energy in her vocals. The lyrics also pack a punch, especially if you are currently going through a breakup of some sort. Emmrose does a really wonderful job capturing the pain and bittersweet experience of grappling with the aftermath of a failed relationship. Emmrose’s vulnerability really shines throughout the song, especially when she describes grappling with the painful realization that despite every terrible moment, her love for her ex-partner remains indelibly etched on her heart like a tattoo. If you are looking for a song that captures the nuances of love and heartbreak in a indie-pop fashion, definitely give “Tattoo” a spin.
