Listening to “undercover” by Tim Sorbs felt like I was being transported to Laguna Beach in California in the 90s. It’s bright, alternative-pop instrumentals reminds me so much of the song “Ocean Man” by Ween, it’s like they’re from the same family (except Sorbs is Ween’s more electric guitar toting, rock and roll younger sibling). The lyrics aren’t as uplifting as the song, it actually can teeter to deprecation at some points. But that duality is what makes “undercover” super interesting, because it creates a complex narrative with some killer instrumentals that makes you want to keep listening over and over again.
