“7 Months” – June

“7 Months” by June is such an emotionally charged and introspective song. June’s vulnerably charged lyrics explores hard truths and feelings after a relationship ends, especially when your ex-partner changes before your very eyes. Her electronic sound and use of R&B elements in “7 Months” sounds slow at first. However, the song builds itself up and gives a cinematic quality, transporting listeners to a dreamy and immersive world that centers June’s heartbreak. June’s sound in “7 Months” reminds me of a harmonious blend between Ellie Goulding and Selena Gomez; just very whimsical, dreamy, but also has a contemporary edge to it.
