When word first spread about a virus in early 2020, many shrugged it off. However, we knew that it was serious the second everything from sporting arenas to Disneyland hung up “Be Back…?” signs. Even worse, music lovers around the world wondered when the heck they were going to get live music back in their lives. It was hard to watch venues turn off their lights, sadly some for good. Thankfully though, many of our favorite places are back up and running thanks to the magic of science and with that we’re inching our way back to normal. What does that mean for the concert addicted? Yup, tours, tours, and more tours!
Our favorite artists are either getting back to what they had planned in 2020, or have all new tours ready to go. So let’s take a look at the must-see concerts coming your way in 2022.
Dua Lipa
If there was one saving grace of 2020, it was Dua Lipa’s ‘Future Nostalgia’ album. It promised nostalgia and man, did it deliver?! It was like stepping back into my butterfly clips listening to that one. A throwback worthy of our love today, we cannot wait to see how she brings that album to life when she kicks things off on February 9th in Miami, Florida.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
If you’re a fan of rock music and a great live show, you have to check out Red Hot Chili Peppers when they come to a town near you in 2022. They may have been around the block a few times, but age ain’t nothing but a number for these high-energy performers. They’ll be on the road throughout summer 2022 from Denver to Texas and everything in between.
Katy Perry
If you love Katy Perry and like to have a great time, good news! Katy Perry is going to be headlining her own Vegas Residency with dates in January and March.
Foo Fighters
Don’t miss out on the chance to see Foo Fighters next year! They’ll be out from May through the end of August when they wrap things up with not one but two dates in Los Angeles as the Banc of California Stadium.
Adele
Like Katy Perry, Adele is taking her music to the bright lights of Vegas in 2022. She’s also making it easy on fans and taking over on the weekends so no excuses not to go, right?
Luke Bryan
Okay, we swear this isn’t all about Vegas but it seems like Katy Perry’s fellow ‘American Idol’ judge Luke Bryan will be bringing some honky tonk to Sin City as well in the new year.
Olivia Rodrigo
Whether you’re a 13-year-old kid obsessed with the ‘High School Musical’ series on Disney+ or an elder millennial drawn to the power pop of Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Sour,’ chances are you’re going to be clamoring for tickets to see one of the most talked about and celebrated artists in recent years. Myself? I am eyeing three dates at the moment, but leaning towards the DC date as a little birthday gift.
Kacey Musgraves
Country fans won’t have to wait long to see Kacey Musgraves as she’s heading out in early 2022 for a run that’ll start in January in Minnesota before winding down at the end of February in Los Angeles.
Billie Eilish
Right before Kacey Musgraves leaves the road, Billie Eilish will be getting on it for a tour that will have her hitting just about every major city on the map throughout June.
My Chemical Romance
After a very, very long wait – My Chemical Romance is back, again. The kings of angst in the ‘00s had a reunion tour planned but you know well, we already covered why plans had to change. So fans have had to wait just a tad bit longer for this tour to come around, but rest assured – it’s going to be worth every second so get perhaps invest in some waterproof eyeliner because there will be tears at these shows.
Coldplay
If emo music is just too much for you, then you’re probably more in line with having a glass of wine near the venue before the show and checking out Coldplay when they roll through. They’ll be hitting the road with H.E.R. in summer 2022 in the US before dominating the world with their adult contemporary ways.
Backstreet Boys
No, not another Vegas Residency. Actually, Backstreet Boys have been there, done that. Now they’re planning on returning to the road to pick back up on a tour that had to be rescheduled.
Justin Bieber
If you love Justin Bieber, 2022 is going to be a great year for you. The pop singer will be insanely busy on tour from February through the end of June here in the states.
